Although the process of painting plays a major role in my creating, the primary drive derives from a passion to make a difference. That somehow exploring possibilities, making design decisions along the way, encourages a sense of wonder at the process. And that when I call a painting done, and assign it a name, that somehow that painting manifests something greater than the sum of color and value and texture. That painting actually embodies a beauty or a truth that impacts my own heart and in turn transforms or expands a portion of my understanding. A painting can create a knowing that surpasses knowledge. A gentle pull on my heart that helps me meditate more fully on an theme. My paintings become a way to wash my mind, and renew my thinking. They call me higher and transform me. I hope they do the same for you.
